James Milner is prepared to play left-back should England boss Fabio Capello turn to him to fill the problem position.   [LNB]The Aston Villa midfielder played 15 minutes for his country at full-back - against Belarus - and could find himself back there as Capello assesses his options for the World Cup.[LNB]First-choice left-back Ashley Cole is out injured and after Wayne Bridge made himself unavailable for his country following the John Terry saga, Capello is light in that area.[LNB] Ear we go: Milner, seen celebrating his goal against Manchester United in Sunday's Carling Cup final, would play in any position to be involved with England[LNB]Everton's Leighton Baines, Aston Villa's Stepehen Warnock and Joleon Lescott from Manchester City have all been mentioned as possible starters in the position.[LNB] But Milner said:  'To have Wayne Bridge available would be great but we'll move on. I've had 15 minutes experience at left-back but that was for England. [LNB]'If I'm asked to play there I'll do the best job I can - but my best position is further forward.'[LNB]The 24-year-old has also played on the opposite side of the defence with his club this season.[LNB]He added: 'When I've played at right-back for Villa, it's usually been when we are behind and chasing the game so it was more like a wing-back.[LNB]'My best position is definitely more attacking central midfield, which I am enjoying immensely at the moment, or right-wing and left-wing.[LNB]'That is more suited to my game but, if the manager asks me to play right-back, I'll do it to the best of my ability.[LNB]'I would never turn it down. You just want to get out there and play. If he asks me to play there, I'd do it as well as I can. I'll give it my all.[LNB]'Maybe the versatility can count in your favour when it comes to the World Cup.[LNB] 'I'm just happy to be here with the England squad, wherever it means I'm playing. There's a lot of competition for places.   [LNB]'The England manager watches a lot of games. It's not just about this one - there's a lot of football between now and the World Cup.   [LNB]  'But you want to play more games because it means you are successful for your side. I'm sure players would rather be playing more games than less.'[LNB]Bridge pulled out of England reckoning as Capello was preparing for Wednesday's friendly against Egypt.[LNB]The Manchester City defender does not want to be in the same team as Terry following the revelations the Chelsea captain had an affair with Bridge's ex-girlfriend.[LNB]On the situation, Milner added: 'We're a squad, we are as one and we've got a job to do.   [LNB]'We're going into a major tournament and it's important we're all together, there's no way we'll be any different.'[LNB] Rooney insists he'll be fit for England despite aggravating knee at WembleyEngland face fight to hold on to Fabio as Juventus line up summer move for bossPICTURED: Manchester City defender Bridge REFUSES to shake Terry's handEverton star Baines eager to make the most of Bridge's England snub[LNB][LNB]
