Milner: England tussle good for Villa

Heskey is established as one of Fabio Capello's front-line forwards despite his lack of starts at Villa this season.[LNB]But Agbonlahor impressed when given a rare start by the Italian in Wednesday's World Cup qualifier with Belarus at Wembley.[LNB]Milner, who came on as a substitute in that game, said: "Gabby has been on fire for Villa and that is how he has forced his way back into the England reckoning.[LNB]"That is all credit to him. It is down to him and his performances. The England manager picks players on form and he did well again against Belarus.[LNB]"Emile has also done well. I am sure both Martin O Neill and Mr Capello would rather have competition for places and have these problems and have headaches over who to play where.[LNB]"They both have two good quality players to chose from. Hopefully both will just keep playing better and better and putting each other under pressure.[LNB]"That can only make their performances even better and that can only benefit Aston Villa."[LNB]Gareth Barry - a former club-mate of Agbonlahor - felt the 23-year-old did well for his country and that Capello will have difficult choices to make in deciding which strikers to take to South Africa next summer.[LNB]He said: "Gabby did really well - just as he does for his club. It was his first game at Wembley for the seniors and he did everything the manager asked of him.[LNB]"He was heavily involved in the first goal and that will have done his confidence the world of good. Some of his link up play was really good too so he will be happy with his performance.[LNB]"If you look at who are the ideal players for the strikers, it is going to be a tough call for the manager to decide who he wants to go to the World Cup.[LNB]"Getting into that squad will be in the back of all the players' minds but there is still a long way to go yet and plenty of time for decisions to be made.[LNB]"Players will be thinking about it but there is a lot of football still to go between now and then and a couple more friendlies to come for England.[LNB]"The majority of games are going to be for your club and so that is where you are going to have to keep your form going really."[LNB][LNB]
