McLeish compensation deal agreed

Birmingham have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Aston Villa that will see the Barclays Premier League club pay an undisclosed figure following Alex McLeish's controversial appointment at Villa Park.

McLeish left Blues following their relegation and was appointed as manager of Villa five days later, with his former employers insisting they would fight for compensation.

The agreement to pay an undisclosed figure means that both parties have agreed to end the legal disputes that arose from McLeish's appointment as well as Villa's later recruitment of Blues first-team coach Peter Grant and chief medical officer Dr Ian McGuinness.
