Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill will ask Randy Lerner to outline his spending plans before committing his future to the club.

The American billionaire has already met the Irishman but the pair plan to hold further talks after Sunday's final match at home to Blackburn Rovers.

O'Neill retains lofty ambitions for the Midlands club but is hoping to see whether he will be given adequate finances to improve his squad further this summer.
