Marc Albrighton sets his sights on FA Cup final ahead of fifth-round clash with Man City
Marc Albrighton is targeting FA Cup glory with Aston Villa but insists Birmingham's Carling Cup success is not an extra spur to clinch a Wembley final spot.[LNB]Dreaming of Wembley: Marc Albrighton hopes Villa can take a step closer to FA Cup glory against Man City[LNB] Blues lifted their first major trophy for 48 years when they overcame Arsenal to give their fans the bragging rights in the city.[LNB]Albrighton would love to help Villa reach their first FA Cup final in 11 years, but knows his team have to be at their best to overcome Manchester City at Eastlands on Wednesday night if they are to set up a home quarter-final with Reading.[LNB]He said: 'I've not really thought about whether Blues being at a final will inspire us to do the same.[LNB]'It would be great to get to a cup final - no matter whether Blues have been there or not.[LNB]'We've got to beat Manchester City first and, if we do that, we've got a hard tie against Reading.[LNB]'It's going to be hard to get there but we will do our best.'[LNB]Albrighton is keen for Villa to avenge a 4-0 mauling by Roberto Mancini's side in December in what was arguably their worst performance of the season.[LNB]But he believes Villa will be full of confidence after the 4-1 triumph over Blackburn at the weekend.[LNB]Albrighton said: 'We were very poor up at City. Every player in a Villa shirt didn't perform that day.[LNB]'But we've beaten them since at our place so we know we are capable of it.[LNB]'We will go there and look to pick something up. We had a great afternoon against Blackburn and we will go there in high spirits and full of confidence.'[LNB]Albrighton will come face to face with former Villa player James Milner and admits he learned a lot from the midfielder before plugging the gap left by his ?24million summer move.[LNB] Mentor: Albrighton speaks highly of Man City midfielder James Milner[LNB] He said: 'I've had the chance to fill a gap. James is a great player. He enjoyed it here and has gone to a club going for more trophies like the league and looking for Champions League football.[LNB]'He is doing well there and Villa have probably missed him a bit.[LNB]'He was a great player for Villa and as lads we miss him.
