Kyle Walker to battle Vedran Corluka and Alan Hutton for right-back berth at Tottenham

Kyle Walker has vowed to fight for the right-back slot at Tottenham following his successful spell on-loan at Aston Villa. [LNB]Walker, 21, had failed to nail down a regular first-team slot at White Hart Lane following his switch from Sheffield United in 2009. [LNB]He was loaned out to QPR last season before joining Villa on for five months where he blossomed, so much so that he was handed a shock call up to the England squad. [LNB] Staying put: Walker has just penned a deal extension at Spurs[LNB]Three Lions boss Fabio Capello sprang a surprise by summoning Walker to deputise for right-backs Glen Johnson, as Micah Richards and Phil Jagielka were injured. [LNB]But he will face an uphill battle to nail down a starting berth with Vedran Corluka and Alan Hutton the regulars in that position over the past couple of seasons sill in at the club. [LNB]'I've come here to play now,' he said in the latest issue of Hotspur magazine. 'I have tasted Premier League football and that is what I want to do, I want to play football for Tottenham.[LNB]'I have signed a new contract and if I didn't want to stay here I wouldn't have signed it.
