John Carew wants Stoke move

ShareAston Villa striker John Carew has admitted he will be leaving Villa Park in the summer.[LNB]The 31-year-old Norweigan has been on loan at FA Cup runners-up Stoke City since January but he is still idolised at Villa Park.[LNB]Carew admitted he will leave the club with a heavy heart but revealed he would be seeking pastures new in the summer, with a permanent move to the Britannia Stadium the most likely option.[LNB] Fans favourite: John Carew will leave Aston Villa with a heavy heart[LNB]'I haven't told them yet,' said Carew. 'We will speak when the season is over.[LNB]'I love the club immensely, but my time there is finished.'[LNB]Carew fell out with Gerard Houllier while the pair were at Lyon and he fell out of the first team when the Frenchman arrived at the club.[LNB]But the ex-Valencia player says he had already thought about leaving Villa before the Houllier's arrival.[LNB]He added: 'Even before the season started, I felt that soon it would be time to move on. When Houllier came it became even more clear.[LNB] New love: Carew has enjoyed his time at Stoke[LNB]'Signing a new contract at Villa was never in my mind, but there will always be a place for Villa and the fans in my heart.'[LNB]The giant striker revealed that his preferred destination would be Stoke, admitting he has thoroughly enjoyed his time at the club.[LNB]'I want to stay in England and I love it at Stoke,' he said.[LNB]'The changing room is amazing. There is a really strong team spirit here.[LNB]'It is a fantastic group to be part of and I'm really enjoying that side of it.
