Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez believes Aston Villa are genuine Barclays Premier League title contenders.[LNB]Manchester United are currently two points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table, but Martin O'Neill's impressive Villa team are just a further three points behind.[LNB] Red alert: Rafa Benitez insists that Aston Villa should not be written out of the Premier League title race yet.[LNB]Villa have undoubtedly been this season's surprise package and look set to deny Arsenal or Chelsea a Champions League place. We have to keep going and then maybe at the end it could be down to two teams. [LNB]'I'm not surprised Villa are doing well because they have good players. They are working really hard and are in a good position, and that makes motivation for each game easier. [LNB]'The important thing is we are still in a fantastic position. The character of the players at Portsmouth was very good and the way we came back showed we have the right mentality. We have done that so many times this season.[LNB]'We have more confidence now because we are winning.
