Injury-plagued Aston Villa captain Laursen decides to call it quits
Injury-plagued Aston Villa defender Martin Laursen will quit the club at the end of season and retire.
The Villa captain, 31, signed from AC Milan in 2004, has not played since January due to a knee injury and he today confirmed that he will hang up his boots.
The Dane was a pivotal figure in Martin O'Neill's side's superb start to the season and his absence has largely contributed to Villa's failure to hold on to fourth place.
