Injury worry for Agbonlahor

Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor admits he is concerned about the hamstring injury which forced him off against Everton. Agbonlahor had been a doubt for Sunday's clash with Everton due to a virus and was substituted early into the second half of the 3-3 draw. The England international is now due to undergo a scan on the injury, with Agbonlahor confirming he came off as he did not want the problem to worsen. "There is something wrong with my hamstring," said Agbonlahor. "I don't know what it is. We'll have to wait and see the results of a scan. "I got the ball and pulled up and came off as a precaution. I don't know how long I'll be out for. "It felt pretty sore during the game, but I came off when I did because I didn't want to make it worse." Villa boss Martin O'Neill revealed Agbonlahor had not trained in the build-up to the match and praised the youngster's attitude for wanting to play. O'Neill said: "Gabby played against Everton after not training for the two days before the game. He had not been feeling great. "But we always knew he wanted to come out and play and this is one of the big things about him and Ashley Young and a number of the other lads - they want to play. "When Gabby came off, his hamstring was sore. Everything was wrong with him in terms of not being physically fit for the game, but he still did great. That is the kind of character he is."
