Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier has confirmed his interest in signing Manchester City full-back Wayne Bridge on loan.
Any move could happen sooner rather than later now Pablo Zabaleta has won his appeal for his sending-off against Arsenal in City's 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium in midweek.
Houllier has already signed a new right-back in on-loan Tottenham defender Kyle Walker. Now the axing of Stephen Warnock after a poor run of form has left him needing an experienced left-back - and Bridge would fit the bill.
Houllier confirmed: "There has been dialogue (regarding Bridge). It is true we have been talking to them."
