Heskey suffers ankle knock

Emile Heskey is set to sit out Aston Villa's Carling Cup date with Cardiff City on Wednesday. The England international is nursing an ankle injury picked up in Villa's 2-0 victory over Portsmouth on Saturday. While he is not expected to be sidelined for long, Martin O'Neill is reluctant to risk the powerful frontman in the midweek third round contest against the Bluebirds. The Villa boss told his club's official website: "He rocked his ankle during the game on Saturday. "He was in big discomfort but it's eased a bit and we're hoping he won't be out for too long. "But he's unlikely to be fit for the Cardiff game."
