Hat-trick hero Carew bids to avenge Villa's Carling Cup Wembley heartache

John Carew is relishing the chance to make amends for Aston Villa's Wembley disappointment.[LNB]Carew was a late substitute in the Carling Cup final just over a week ago as Villa lost 2-1 to Manchester United.[LNB]Martin O'Neill's side return to the national stadium next month for the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea after big striker Carew demolished Reading with a hat-trick in the last eight.[LNB] Threesy does it: Carew celebrates his goals at the Madejski Stadium[LNB]Speaking after the 4-2 win, Norwegian Carew said: 'I think we can turn last week into a positive and I think we have done. [LNB]'This is an even bigger cup and even more important so it will be even greater to go all the way here.[LNB]'We are just doing everything we can for the fans, for the club, for ourselves to have that beautiful experience again.[LNB]'The players will have learnt a lot from last weekend. It was a great experience, the big scene of Wembley and everything. Everyone dreams of getting to the final again.'[LNB]Reading were 2-0 up at half-time against their Premier League opponents before Carew set up a goal for Ashley Young and then bagged his treble.[LNB]He added: 'It was great in the end. We had a very hard and difficult first half. But we managed to come out after the break and lift our game. We managed to change a very difficult game. In the second half we went out there with more desire and really showed that we do want to go further in this competition.[LNB]'The way we came back to score four goals was one of the performances of the season.
