Harewood set for Newcastle debut after sealing loan deal from Aston Villa
Marlon Harewood will make his Newcastle debut at Ipswich on Saturday after finally securing a three-month loan from Aston Villa.
Caretaker boss Chris Hughton has chased the former West Ham striker for more than a month after missing out on several potential replacements for the injured Shola Ameobi.
Hughton said: 'The important thing for us was to bring in what we felt was a different type player.
'Marlon's strength is that he's a strong, powerfully built lad and of course he's got pace. It's a great challenge and opportunity for him. He's been at some very big clubs, he's at a good age, he's a player of experience and the timing's right for us and hopefully for him.'
