Groningen cool Berg exit talk

Groningen are holding out for 11million euros for the highly-rated Sweden international while Hamburg are thought to have offered 8million euros. Groningen director Hans Nijland is, therefore, mystified at reports Berg is already in talks with the Bundesliga club. Nijland told Voetbal International: "There is a big gap between what they now want to pay and what we want to get for him. "That's why I find it a bit peculiar that he is there already. "To get a deal they must first talk with FC Groningen and get a deal. Until then he is still on our payroll." Berg scored seven goals in the recent European Under-21 Championship and is a reported target for several Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, Tottenham, Everton and Fulham.
