Gary McAllister hopes Aston Villa's January spending spree will convince Ashley Young to stay

Ashley Young's future is uncertain[LNB]  Gary McAllister is hoping the the arrivals of Darren Bent and Jean Makoun will convince Ashely Young to stay at Aston Villa.  [LNB]Villa splashed out ?30m on the pair during the January transfer window and assistant boss McAllister is banking on it persuading Young not to seek a move elsewhere in the summer. [LNB]The England winger is in the final year of his contract and is wanted by Liverpool, Manchester City. Manchester United and Tottenham.[LNB]Young has so far refused to discuss a new deal at Villa Park until the end of the campaign but McAllister still hopes he will sign. [LNB]He said: ''Will it be a triumph to keep Young next season? Absolutely andhopefully by the signings we have made, we can convince our top playersto want to be here."That is what the manager and chairman are searching to do. They want us to be competitive right at the top end of the league.'[LNB]Villa full-back Stephen Warnock was expected to move on in January but has been told he has a future at the club if he wants it despite being banished to the reserves with Habib Baye.
