Gabby ignores Villa boo-boys

Gabriel Agbonlahor is determined to block out the Aston Villa boo-boys and concentrate on his game.[LNB] Agbonlahor was booed off the pitch by the Villa Park faithful when substituted against Tottenham six weeks ago.[LNB]The England striker has admitted he was surprised by the jeers, especially as the crowd are usually singing his name - to the tune of Culture Club's 80's hit 'Karma Chameleon.'[LNB]"Yes, that was a bit upsetting," Agbonlahor told the Daily Telegraph.[LNB]"You don't expect that from your own fans. Ever since I started here I've always had the crowd on my side, cheering my name. So to have that happen didn't feel right."[LNB]UpsetAgbonlahor feels the pressure of trying to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, coupled with their abysmal recent run, is the main factor behind the crowd not getting behind their team when things don't go to plan.[LNB]"I don't really know why they did it. They were probably upset because they'd been used to seeing us win games and in the top four for a long time. Maybe they wanted to take it out on someone."[LNB]But the speedy striker has taken heart from the fact that he is not the only player to be so publicly criticised recently by his own supporters, and has vowed to ignore any future negative noises from the stands.[LNB]"It's not just at Villa; it's the same at most clubs. Eboue got it at Arsenal, didn't he? If they're used to winning games they turn quite quickly and look for people to blame when things go wrong. [LNB]"I think to myself, if they want to do that then I'll block it out and just play my own game. Pretend I can't hear them, even when I start playing well again." [LNB]
