Fulham look to end Reo-Coker's Villa nightmare with cut-price £3m move

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is set to offer Nigel Reo-Coker a cut-price £3million escape route out of Aston Villa in the January transfer window. Reo-Coker has been frozen out at Villa Park following his extraordinary training-ground fight with manager Martin O'Neill and is desperate to leave, according to the Mirror. And the spat two weeks ago means Villa are ready to lower their asking price for the midfielder, after turning down a £7m offer from Tottenham in the summer. Fulham also prepared a bid in the close season but balked at Villa's demands for the 25-year-old. O'Neill had wanted close to the £8m he paid West Ham for the former England Under 21 captain in 2007, but is now prepared to let him go for less just to get him off the books. The player is keen on a return to London after being played out of position at right-back for large parts of his career with Villa, the spark which inflamed the bust-up with O'Neill. Reo-Coker was an unused substitute on his return to the Villa squad against Blackburn last Saturday.
