Forest extend Shorey loan deal

Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal with Aston Villa to extend the loan spell of defender Nicky Shorey until the end of January.The 28-year-old has played seven times for the Reds, helping them to clean sheets in their last five matches. [LNB]Forest manager Billy Davies told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I am delighted to get Nicky until the end of January." [LNB]Shorey is unavailable to play in Saturday's FA Cup third round tie against Birmingham at The City Ground. [LNB]The deal includes a clause allowing Villa to recall him at 24-hours notice.[LNB] We know that to improve this team we are going to have to put our money where our mouth is Billy Davies Meanwhile, Davies revealed the club are yet to make a move for new players in preparation for the reopening of the transfer window on New Year's Day. [LNB]"I will sit down with the acquisitions committee a number of times between now and the end of January," he added. [LNB]"We have identified possibilities but we haven't made any official moves for anybody. All we are doing is gathering information but we know what we would like to bring in.
