Plenty to chew over: Everton and Aston Villa want David Wheater[LNB]Everton are considering a move for Middlesbrough defender David Wheater as they look to avert a defensive injury crisis - but will face competition from Aston Villa.[LNB]Wheater turns 24 in February and is out of contract in the summer but cash-strapped Boro are looking for around £2million now.[LNB]Manager David Moyes has a limited budget but is hopeful of striking a deal. He has had scouts at most of Boro's games recently and has also run the rule over Wheater's teammate Seb Hines, 22, however, Wheater's greater experience is key.[LNB]Villa assistant manager Gary McAllister knows Wheater well and is keen as are Wolves, Stoke, Blackburn and Newcastle.[LNB]Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell underwent medical tests at West Ham yesterday ahead of his proposed move next week.
