Dunne dismisses Domenech as 'the man who is messing up France team'

Richard Dunne has hit back angrily at France coach Raymond Domenech's attempts to belittle the Republic of Ireland as the opening shots were fired in the preparation for this week's World Cup play-offs. [LNB]When he named his squad, Domenech described Giovanni Trapattoni's squad as 'an England B team' and although there have been attempts by the French Federation since to suggest the hapless coach was misinterpreted, and was in fact describing Ireland as similar to an English team, the PR damage has been done. [LNB]Dunne was having none of it and the Aston Villa defender was in feisty mood after training in Malahide, particularly after seeing TV pictures of Domenech being given a rough ride by French supporters. [LNB] Putting the boot in: Dunne (left) was quick to bite back at the France boss[LNB]The entire France squad were taken to the Paris Masters tennis on Monday night to relax but when Domenech's image came up on giant screens at the event, he was roundly booed by spectators. [LNB]Players, including Barcelona striker Thierry Henry, openly giggled at the reaction while a nonplussed Domenech waved to the crowd. [LNB]  Dunne believes the unpopular coach, who just managed to hold on to his job after his country's embarrassing capitulation at the Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland, could be the weak link in the French camp this week. [LNB]And he was certainly dismissive of what he believes to be mind gamesfrom the leader of Les Bleus who is expected to be sacked if they failto qualify for South Africa.[LNB] Dunne said: 'It doesn't surprise mehe said that. Every time a tournament comes round, they have all theseworld-class players and then a man who seems intent on messing them up.[LNB]D-day: Domenech could be out of a job by next week [LNB]'Even watching Sky Sports today, you can see the reaction of the people at the tennis when they put his face on the big screen and the whole place just booed him and his own players laughed at him. [LNB]'It could be a weakness, it could be a big smokescreen. The last few games they have played really well and they seem to be clicking now but if we can get on top of them and try to turn the game into a battle, we feel we have the stronger personalities who are up for that sort of game. [LNB]'Over the last World Cups and Euros, things have not run smoothly for France. They've always got through and maybe it's time we put a stop to that. [LNB]'We know if we can get in front, that they probably have not got the man at the top to pull them back round.' [LNB]Ireland trained in Malahide at the start of their preparations but Hibernian midfielder Liam Miller looks likely to miss out after suffering a calf injury. [LNB]That again raises the question of Andy Reid's return, just days after his competent performance in central midfield for Sunderland at Tottenham. [LNB]The outcast, who is spending several days in Dublin, will not be recalled. [LNB]Manchester City's Stephen Ireland meanwhile is on his way to play a friendly against United Arab Emirates on Saturday. [LNB]Trapattoni added: 'We have 24 players and we don't need to call in any others.'[LNB] Evra: World Cup is more important than Champions League gloryRooney would walk into Brazil team, says England midfielder LampardTHE LIST: Football's greatest penalty kings - Nos 30-21Germany stunned as national team's keeper Enke throws himself under trainInjured Glen Johnson pulls out of England squad to face BrazilASTON VILLA FC
