Standard Liege's Belgium international midfielder Steven Defour has hinted he would welcome a summer switch to Aston Villa. The 20-year-old, who has won 16 caps for his country, has confirmed he is ready to move away from his homeland in order to further his career. Aston Villa have been linked with Defour and the Standard youngster acknowledges the Midlands outfit are big enough to fulfil his ambitions. However, the former Genk midfielder is on a long-term deal with Standard and says it will be down to them whether he moves on or not. Ready to move "I am ready to go abroad," Defour told Het Nieuwsblad. "But if Standard want me to stay, I'll stay. "Standard will only want to let me go to a top club. Villa are fifth in the Premier League, three points behind Arsenal, and that's not bad. "They're an amazing club but Standard Liege must decide whether they are good enough or not. "I still have a contract until 2013. But if Standard refuse an offer, they have to give me something in return."
