Dead-beat Aston Villa are too tired for trip to the sun

Martin O'Neill's shell-shocked Aston Villa squad have turned down a sunshine trip to Portugal so they can put their feet up at home. [LNB]The players have asked their manager to abandon plans for a team-bonding exercise abroad in order to rest up ahead of the run-in. John Terry last week claimed that Chelsea knew Villa would tire during the final third of what turned out to be a 7-1 drubbing at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. [LNB]And as if confirming that, Villa's skipper Stiliyan Petrov was given the daunting task of asking O'Neill for some time off after several members of Villa's squad expressed their concerns about the Portugal trip.
