Davies - No easing off

Curtis Davies insists Aston Villa will not be letting up in their final two games of the 2008/09 campaign. Martin O'Neill's men are already assured of a top-six finish, with an accompanying Europa League place safely secured. They could, therefore, be forgiven for easing off as the season edges towards a conclusion. Davies, though, is adamant that will not be the case, with Villa keen to see off the challenge of Everton and land fifth place in the Premier League. The centre-half believes O'Neill would never allow his players the opportunity to relax even if they were in a position to do so, while he also feels that the Northern Irish coach will resist the urge to rotate his squad in the coming weeks. "Our gaffer would never do that," Davies told the Birmingham Mail. "He's not one of those to start throwing people in the mix and giving them debuts and things like that. "We want to fight until the end of the season and get as many points as possible."
