Aston Villa defender Curtis Davies has vowed to 'roll his sleeves up' in a bid to win his place back after being transfer listed by the club.[LNB] The former West Brom man, who missed much of last season with a shoulder injury, was put up for sale at the end of June.[LNB]Villa paid the Baggies £11million for the 25-year-old two years ago although they are now willing to accept considerably less.[LNB]Davies still has two years remaining on his Villa contract and one more appearance will trigger a clause that forces the club to renegotiate his deal.[LNB]The Londoner is not worried at being on the transfer list and is simply focusing on being fully fit to fight for his place in Martin O'Neill's starting XI.[LNB]"The biggest thing for me is getting back into the team," he explained. "I am going to roll my sleeves up and see what happens. [LNB]"Obviously the manager will make his decisions, but I will see, keep my head down and hope things work out. I have never been scared of competition. [LNB]"I have done a lot of hard work and a lot of running throughout the holidays. [LNB]"Now I have come back for pre-season one of the fittest here and I am determined to make it work. [LNB]"If I play well, I can give the manager a massive headache - and that is what I want to do."
