City in talks with Bentley - Report

01 September 2009 08:58
Bentley's Spurs future remains unclear after slipping out of favour under manager Harry Redknapp, who criticised him after his recent arrest for drink driving. The 25-year-old has played just five minutes of Premier League football this term, although he played the full 90 minutes of their Carling Cup win at Doncaster. The former Blackburn winger had been linked with Aston Villa, but it now seems that City are leading the chase for his signature. This is despite Mark Hughes declaring City's summer spending spree had finished following their big-money capture of Joleon Lescott. Spurs are reportedly interested in City winger Petrov, but it remains unclear whether the Bulgarian is part of the deal that would bring Bentley to Eastlands.
