Chelsea target Aston Villa's Ashley Young

Villa manager Martin O'Neill had to spend most of last summer fending off interest from Liverpool in Gareth Barry and will be in no mood for a repeat scenario should Chelsea come calling for Young. However, according to the Mirror, Chelsea could be willing to offer the 23-year-old England international £70,000 a week, £14,000 more than his current deal at Villa Park. Young, it would appear, has been personally recommended to Roman Abramovich by Guus Hiddink, who has kept a close eye on the midfielder since his arrival at Stamford Bridge. Villa paid £9.65m to Watford for Young back in 2007 and could demand three times that sum from Chelsea to even consider parting with one of their prized assets. Chelsea would be able to help finance the deal by offloading France international Florent Malouda, with the 28-year-old failing to make an impact since his £13.5m move from Lyon. Meanwhile, David Trezeguet's agent claims Chelsea are one of a number of Premier League clubs chasing the signature of the Juventus striker. Trezeguet, 31, has reportedly fallen out with coach Claudio Ranieri, and the player's agent, Antonio Caliendo, said: "A divorce with Juve could suit both parties. "Chelsea and three important English clubs are tracking him and he has never hidden his desire to play in the Premier League."
