Carlos Cuellar can join Rangers for £3m

ShareAston Villa will be willing to allow defender Carlos Cuellar to return to his former club Rangers - if the price is right. [LNB]Villa are hoping to receive around ?3million for Cuellar, who joined them from the Gers three years ago for nearly ?8m. [LNB]The Scottish giants have been told their current offer of ?1.5m is not high enough. But this has not put off new Rangers boss Ally McCoist, who worked with Cuellar during his previous spell at Ibrox. [LNB]Villa are also unlikely to sign midfielder Michael Bradley on a permanent basis from Borussia Monchengladbach. [LNB]The United States international made only a minimal impact when on loan at Villa during the second half of last season. [LNB] Planning ahead: New Villa boss Alex McLeish[LNB]Meanwhile, new Villa manager Alex McLeish is to study DVDs of the current crop of young players at the club to see if they are ready to make their mark in the Barclays Premier League. [LNB]McLeish said: 'I've been in touch with the IT guy who is going to give me some DVDs of the young players so I can assess how far they've developed. [LNB]'The question is are they ready to go into the melting pot of the Premier League next season?'[LNB]McLeish is already excited at working with some of the young prospects at Villa. [LNB]He said: 'Looking through the squad, it's a great mixture of experience and some tremendous young players. [LNB]'We definitely have players coming through. I know young Marc Albrighton has burst on to the scene. He looks a fantastic prospect. He was the one who made the big breakthrough last season. [LNB]'Nathan Delfouneso is another I know. Then there are the likes of Nathan Baker and Gary Gardner as well. [LNB]'I'd love to think the likes of Fabian Delph can make the breakthrough next season.
