Campbell biding his time

Sol Campbell is yet to make a decision regarding his future as he keeps interested parties waiting. The England international is available as a free agent after allowing his contract at Portsmouth to expire this summer. He is believed to now have numerous options available to him, with a host of clubs battling to land his signature. Teams from across Europe have expressed an interest in the experienced centre-half, with the likes of Aston Villa, Everton, Basle, St Etienne and Atromitos believed to be in the running. Portsmouth have also not given up hope of persuading Campbell to remain at Fratton Park, but that outcome appears unlikely. An announcement is expected to be made in the near future regarding the defender's next move, but for now the 34-year-old is prepared to bide his time. Busy"There is nothing sorted with Sol at the moment. I don't know if anything is going to happen with Portsmouth now," Campbell's agent, Sky Andrews, told The News. "He's been keeping himself busy. "Sol is a grown man and makes his own decisions. "It is not like when he was a teenager and I would advise him on his options. "He is a big man now and decides for himself what he is going to do. "He will do that when he is good and ready."
