Bremen hold Borowski talks

Werder Bremen could be ready to re-sign reported Aston Villa target Tim Borowski this summer. The Bayern Munich midfielder has been told he does not feature in the plans of new coach Louis van Gaal only one year after joining on a free transfer from Bremen. Villa boss Martin O'Neil is also thought to be tracking the 29-year-old as he looks to find a replacement for Gareth Barry, who has joined Manchester City. But Bremen appear to be in pole position for Borowski's signature after director of sport Klaus Allofs confirmed he had "discussed things" with the former Germany international. "If the financial side of things is right, and we are convinced that signing him back would make sense for our squad, then we will deal with it," added Allofs in Kreiszeitung Syke. "It is no secret that we are still looking for one or two additions and Tim could be a solution."
