Boos? Really?

I wrote an article on Friday asking if the continued run of draws was sufficient to keep Villa fans happy. The response was not meaningful one or the other, but after Saturday's draw at home to Newcastle it appears that the question has been answered. On the radio commentary there were distinct boos ringing around the ground at the final whistle, indicating that there is a [hopefully] small group of fans that are not happy with drawing games. I find it unbelievable that such fans are not contented with the start that Villa have made, but I suppose it is their right to voice their disapproval as paying customers. When all is taken into consideration, I think the start we have made has been rather good. Still unbeaten, and sitting nicely just below the Champions League places amongst good company. We have had managerial turmoil, a tightening of the purse strings and we have sold two of our best players. So, all considered, I think things are going far better than expected. McLeish must have been really annoyed to hear the boos at the final whistle. I would be if I was in his shoes. But it may be that certain Villa fans are concerned his reputation of defensive football is resulting in draws. The reality it, though, that the games so far have been closely contested games and draws were probably the fairest results. It is every fan's right to voice their disapproval, but I can't understand why they are booing already and after such a solid start. It may be that there are some that will never accept McLeish, no matter he may achieve whilst at Villa. Keep up the good work lads- slow and steady wins the race!
