Bolton set sights on David Wheater over fears Gary Cahill will leave in January

Bolton have made an inquiry for Middlesbrough defender David Wheater as they brace themselves for offers from Liverpool and Chelsea for Gary Cahill. [LNB]The 23-year-old  Middlesbrough defender has attracted interest from Wolves, Everton, Aston Villa and Stoke. [LNB]Manager Owen Coyle has confirmed a request to take Arsenal striker Carlos Vela on loan. Arsenal are receptive with Vela's other suitors, Valencia and Espanyol, keen to buy the 21-year-old.
