Blackpool boss Ian Holloway: Big time Charlie Adam's too good for Aston Villa
Ian Holloway has taken a swipe at Aston Villa over their pursuit of Charlie Adam, calling the club a 'half-a***d place that used to be famous' and saying boss GerardHoullier was 'on a dodgy wicket'. [LNB]Blackpool have rejected Villa's £3.5million bid for Adam, with Holloway insisting the midfielder should go to a top club.[LNB] Holloway said: 'I don't believe it's right for Charlie to move at the moment, because theoffers we're getting and the clubs who are asking, he's better than that. [LNB]'Three-and-a-half million for him, you're taking the mickey out of us. It's an absolutely disgraceful offer. And why's it in the paper and why are they talking about it? And they're below us. [LNB] Crazy talk: Holloway insists his prize asset will not be leaving Bloomfield Road[LNB]Even Houllier has admitted that defeat in tomorrow's Birmingham derby will leave Villa in a relegation dog-fight. [LNB]'We need to get out of this position as soon as possible,' he said. 'We have had two weeks now in the drop zone. [LNB]'By the end of January we could be in a very bad position.'[LNB]If the two clubs below Villa West Ham and Wigan earn a point each from their games with Arsenal and Fulham respectively, Villa will be in the bottom spot ahead of kick-off tomorrow. [LNB]McLeish said: 'The fact we haven't won a penalty is, in my opinion, because we are unfashionable.'
