Bent ready for England action

Aston Villa striker Darren Bent is confident niggling injuries will not keep him out of England's final Euro 2012 qualifier in Montenegro.[LNB] The 27-year-old is still being troubled by the effects of groin and ankle problems which frustrated his start to the campaign. [LNB]But Bent, who scored during Villa's 2-0 victory over Wigan on Saturday, insists he is ready for action if called upon by England boss Fabio Capello. [LNB]"If I get the opportunity to play then I will," Bent told the Daily Star. "After games I have to ice one or two bits and bobs like my ankles and groins.[LNB]"I have to keep on top of my groins, because they are niggly. As a footballer, you want to play in every game you can. [LNB]"It has been a frustrating start to the season for me to be honest, but all I can do is try and keep on top of it and I will be fine."[LNB]He added: "I did the first groin and got better then did the second one, which was a bit disappointing. [LNB]"But you have to get yourself right and I keep working on it every day and hopefully it will be fine."[LNB]England, currently top of qualifying Group G by six points, need just one more point to secure a spot in next summer's tournament. [LNB]Former Sunderland man Bent is certain Capello's side can finish the job in Montenegro: "I do believe that at Wembley they came to shut up shop and it was a case of attack versus defence. [LNB]"But over there, they are going to go for it as well, so there is no reason why it shouldn't be an open game with chances. [LNB]"I'm sure we can go over there and get the result everyone wants."
