Bannan urges Villa to kick on
arry Bannan has admitted there are some Aston Villa players that are short on confidence but feels performances will continue to improve.[LNB] Villa kept up their unbeaten start to the Premier League season on Sunday against Queens Park Rangers but were denied victory after Richard Dunne's late own goal left the final score at 1-1.[LNB]Bannan was disappointed not to come away with three points after a fine second-half display, but recognises that Villa did not play well enough in the opening 45 minutes.[LNB]He is looking for a more consistent level at home to Wigan this weekend and expects those players who are still establishing themselves to build on what they did against QPR.[LNB]"There are a few lads who've not played for a while and are a bit low on confidence," Bannan said in the Daily Star.[LNB]"I thought Stephen Ireland was terrific and Fabian Delph and the others who have not played many games did well.[LNB]"We're looking for them to kick on. We started to play some great football after we got a bit of confidence in the second half.[LNB]"But the equaliser, a goal like that, was a killer and it felt like a loss.[LNB]"Hopefully we will show against Wigan we can perform for 90 minutes."
