Bacary Sagna hails end of Arsenal's goal drought

A brace of from Nicklas Bendtner and one from Kolo Toure ended Arsenal's four-game run without a league goal. The drought effectively put the club out of the title race, yet Sagna insists that there has been no finger pointing within the dressing room.[LNB]"The players have not talked about the lack of goals," the Frenchman said. "We trust each other and we never spoke about scoring goals. I think everyone trusts the forwards and on Tuesday night they did their job. I hope the goals will keep coming." [LNB]Were it not for one of the goalposts, the Dane would have scored a hat-trick after weaving his way through a disordered home defence before beating West Brom goalkeeper Scott Carson in the second half.[LNB]"It is a big confidence boost because we have drawn too many times and we wanted to look forward," Sagna said of the win. "It was quite hard but we never gave up. We played as a team. [LNB]"It was tough because although they are bottom they are quite a good team. We gave everything. We kept working hard in training and we have the three points.[LNB]"I hope this will help us psychologically. We have to take everything positive. Tuesday night is gone, the next game is another game, and we have to stay focused." [LNB]Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal manager, has acknowledged that the club's chief priority is closing the gap on fourth-placed Aston Villa, but Sagna was quick to stress that the team will not become fixated with anyone other than themselves, insisting that if they can improve their finishing, catching Villa will take care of itself.[LNB]He said: "At the moment we are only looking at Arsenal. We try to play game after game and give everything and get maximum points and see where we are. [LNB]"We can catch Villa if we play well. We have played quite good in the last few games, but we have just not scored. When we score, we can win games." [LNB]
