Aston Villa's Richard Dunne given driving ban for going wrong way down one-way street

Ban: Richard Dunne was convicted for an offence committed last September[LNB] Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne was banned from driving today after being convicted of going through a No Entry sign.[LNB]The Republic of Ireland international was given three penalty points for failing to comply with a No Entry sign in Newhall Street in central Birmingham last September.[LNB]Magistrates in the city heard that his driving licence was already endorsed with nine points and told the player he would be disqualified for six months under 'totting up' procedures.[LNB]Dunne, of Lodge Lane, Dutton, Warrington, pleaded guilty to driving through the No Entry sign last month.[LNB]Catherine Junor, defending, told the court he had been 'very apologetic' and pulled over immediately when he encountered a marked police car as he drove the wrong way down the one-way street at around 11.30am on Sunday, September 19 last year.[LNB]She said the 31-year-old had been looking for a parking space for his black Range Rover, adding that the traffic conditions at the time were 'light to medium'.[LNB]Dunne, who spoke only to confirm his date of birth and address, was ordered to pay a ?333 fine, ?60 costs and a ?15 victim surcharge.[LNB] Bent has a Tweet for Aston Villa fans as striker sets sights on a Twitter returnYou've got yourself a bargain!
