Jonathan Kodjia ready for Aston Villa debut

Aston Villa could hand new signing Jonathan Kodjia a debut against Nottingham Forest on Sunday after he joined from Bristol City.

The striker made a move which could eventually be worth B#15million and could be paired with Ross McCormack, who cost Villa B#12million from Fulham.

Albert Adomah is ready for his debut after his switch from Middlesbrough on deadline day which made him Villa's ninth signing of the summer.

Mile Jedinak's home bow is in doubt after he suffered an injury on international duty with Australia, with boss Roberto Di Matteo waiting for news.

Forest will check on Britt Assombalonga. The striker, who signed a new five-year contract during the international break, is nursing a hamstring problem but has not been definitively ruled out of Forest's plans.

Manager Philippe Montanier initially hinted Assombalonga could be fit to face Leeds - prior to the international break - but he is not being rushed back.

With new signing Nicklas Bendtner lacking match fitness following his lack of football since leaving Wolfsburg, Apostolos Vellios is likely to lead the line for Forest.

Lica, Mustapha Carayol and Nicolao Dumitru are in a similar position to Bendtner, but perhaps a little further ahead in their fitness work, while it remains unclear if Damien Perquis has recovered from the ankle injury he sustained against Leeds last time out.
