Jack Grealish awaits outcome of Aston Villa inquiry

Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish is waiting to discover his fate after the club launched an investigation into a party he allegedly attended.

Boss Roberto Di Matteo confirmed the club were looking into claims that Grealish was at a party at a Birmingham hotel where police were reportedly called in the early hours of Sunday morning, with the manager yet to decide whether he will face Newcastle on Saturday.

Midfielder Aaron Tshibola is fit and available but strikers Ross McCormack, Rudy Gestede and Nathan Baker face late fitness tests.

Albert Adomah could make his full debut for the club after he made a late substitute appearance in their 0-0 draw at Ipswich on Saturday which left Di Matteo's side with just one win from their opening eight games.

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez will be without Vurnon Anita after the full-back lost his appeal against the red card he was shown in the 2-0 league defeat to Wolves last Saturday.

Anita challenged referee Tim Robinson's decision to send him off for his challenge on substitute Ivan Cavaleiro, but was unsuccessful and having sat out the midweek EFL Cup victory over the same opposition, he will do so once again for the trip to Villa Park and DeAndre Yedlin is likely to deputise.

Benitez made eight changes in midweek, two of them to hand debuts to full-back Achraf Lazaar and striker Daryl Murphy, and the Spaniard is likely to make further changes against last season's Premier League rivals.

Keeper Rob Elliot and defender Massadio Haidara (both knee) and midfielder Rolando Aarons (fractured metatarsal) are still out, while full-back Jesus Gamez is working his way back from a calf problem.
