Aston Villa could be without Elphick and Richards for Fulham clash

Defenders Tommy Elphick and Micah Richards are both expected to miss Aston Villa's Sky Bet Championship clash at home to Fulham.

New Villa boss Steve Bruce thinks both Elphick and Richards could miss two to three weeks as both have suffered calf problems.

Midfielder Jack Grealish will miss the Villa Park clash as he serves the second game of a three-match ban.

Bruce will also weigh up whether to hand striker Jordan Ayew a recall to the starting line-up.

Tom Cairney is expected to return to the Fulham squad after missing the 2-2 draw against Norwich.

Tomas Kalas is the only injury absentee with the on-loan Chelsea defender still sidelined by a hamstring injury.

Winger Floyd Ayite is back in training after an ankle injury.

Full-back Ryan Fredericks made his first appearance of the season following an ankle problem as a sub against the Canaries and should be involved again.
