Aston Villa v Burnley Live

Aston Villa will continue their quest for Champions League football when they entertain relegation-threatened Burnley on Sunday afternoon. Martin O'Neill's side have not won any of their last four home matches in the Premier League, scoring just one goal in the process, but will be confident of victory against what is the worst away side in the league. Burnley have only picked up one point and have a minus 30 goal difference on their travels this term in the top-flight, and have now failed to score in nine hours of away league action. This is the worst away record in Premier League history after 13 matches of a season. Despite this, with only five goals being scored in Aston Villa's last six league matches, this meeting could prove to be a tight affair. In their clash earlier this season, Villa needed a late goal from Emile Heskey to secure a point at Turf Moor, this after Steven Caldwell scored his first, and only goal of the season for the Clarets. Neither side will be missing players through suspension for this game, but Villa look set to be missing key player Gabriel Agbonlahor after he took a heavy knock in their last Premier League match against Manchester United, as well as long-term absentee Nigel Reo Coker. Burnley have doubts over Steven Caldwell and Leon Cort, but Graham Alexander is expected to return. Manager Brian Laws revealed that the Scottish veteran has returned to training and that: "He has been progressing well and we're really pleased with that. It's now a matter of him stepping up his work and seeing how it goes for him."
