Aston Villa launch loan move for young Tottenham defender Kyle Walker

Aston Villa have made an inquiry for Tottenham's young defender Kyle Walker.

The 20-year-old right-back has impressed on loan at QPR who were hopeful of keeping him for the rest of the season but Villa manager Gerard Houllier is eager to bring more pace into his defence is keen on a five month deal.

Houllier has a long list of targets but may need to offload before he can buy.

West Ham remain hopeful of landing Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell despite late interest from West Brom and Wolves.

Reports in Italy claim West Ham are also trying to hijack Reto Ziegler's move from Sampdoria to Malaga.

The former Spurs left-back is out of contract in the summer and is available for around £3million. West Ham had been keen on Wayne Bridge.
