The Independent reports[LNB]that Villa have enquired about the availability of the 22-year-old who, despite having signed a new five-year contract last year, would be interested in a move away from St James' Park.[LNB]Only last month, Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear was forced to dismiss suggestions that N'Zogbia is unsettled in the North East and hankering after a return to France with Paris St Germain.[LNB]While N'Zogbia could be on his way out, fellow midfielder Nicky Butt is set to commit himself to the club for another year.[LNB]Butt is poised to trigger a one-year extension clause to stay an extra season at St James', rather than join Wigan.[LNB]Butt said: "My feelings are that I would like to stay at the club until the end of my career now and hopefully we can sort that out, the sooner the better really.[LNB]"As soon as the contract is OK for me and the club, I am happy to sign."[LNB]Kinnear has also moved to open talks with striker Shola Ameobi, whose contract runs out at the end of the season.[LNB][LNB]
