On comeback trail: Villa's midfield star Fabian Delph[LNB]Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph is on target to return to action in January according to assistant manager Gary McAllister.[LNB]The former Leeds player has been sidelined since April with cruciate ligament damage and is currently in the United States for a short period to undertake some specialist training.[LNB]But Villa assistant boss Gary McAllister, who gave Delph his breakthrough at senior level when in charge of Leeds, expects Delph to return early in the New Year.[LNB]He said: 'Fabian is doing fantastically well. He's gone over to the United States to break his rehab up and he's done some training with a specialist over there just to break up the routine.[LNB]'It's been a long time out for Fabian and he's having five or six days over there and then he will be back. Fingers crossed, he'll be here (ready) in January.'[LNB]Delph moved to Villa for £6million in the summer of 2008 and McAllister has no doubt he can be a force for the midlands club.[LNB]He said: 'He is a talented boy, no doubt about that, and honest player and someone I admire. He loves to play and he loves training. He's a bit frustrated at the moment but he is getting closer.[LNB]'This (break) has been a good chance for him to reflect and have a good look at the Premier League.'[LNB] Robert Pires will start the party at Aston Villa!
