Ashley Young challenged by Martin O'Neill after PFA award

The talented former Watford winger picked up the award after a wonderful season which has seen him break into the England squad. [LNB]Young beat off competition from his Villa team-mate Gabriel Agbonlahor to win the honour, and O'Neill said: 'The two lads have done fantastically well and they must now keep it going. [LNB]Young, who scored his eighth goal of the season against Bolton at the weekend, said: 'I may have won the award but it's a team game at the end of the day. If the lads weren't getting the ball to me, playing well and getting on the end of my crosses, I wouldn't have won this award. The team have done brilliantly this season and they deserve a lot of credit. [LNB] "I had some really difficult opposition for the award – including Gabby. He is pleased for me and if he had won, I would have been really pleased for him too. [LNB] "It's massive for the club too – it just goes to show how far the club has come. We haven't had just one nominee – we've had two and that's tremendous." [LNB]Young was also named in the Premier League team of the Year. [LNB]
