Brad Guzan wants to be the new American on the block at Aston Villa and insists Brad Friedel's days are numbered as the club's No.1 goalkeeper.
Guzan has vowed to increase the pressure on his fellow American in the battle for a first-team spot.
The 24-year-old took inspiration from Friedel when he decided to try to make his mark in the Barclays Premier League.
But that will not stop Guzan, who signed from Chivas USA last summer, from trying to dislodge the former Blackburn stopper.
Guzan has already played for Villa in the Carling Cup and UEFA Cupthis season and he was in line to make his league debut at ManchesterUnited on Sunday before Friedel's red card against Liverpool wasrescinded by the FA.
