Gabriel Agbonlahor is hoping he can 'live the dream' by earning a place in England's squad for next summer's World Cup in South Africa. England are on the brink of qualifying for the tournament after winning their opening seven matches in Group 6 under Italian coach Fabio Capello. Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor has yet to make a competitive appearance under Capello, but has featured in the friendlies against Germany and Spain in the past year. The 22-year-old is now determined to enjoy a positive season with Villa, which he hopes will culminate in a seat on the plane to South Africa. "From a youngster I've always wanted to play in the World Cup," said Agbonlahor in the Daily Mirror. "I don't think any boy wanting to live that dream wouldn't say his wildest ambition is to play for his country in the biggest tournament of all. "If I do well and have a good season and go to South Africa, I will be living the dream." He added: "When you're growing up you watch World Cups on TV and dream of being a part of one. "Even the Germany game I played in, although it was a friendly, you felt that extra atmosphere because of the rivalry we have with them. "It was a big game. I know I need to show I'm someone who can make a difference in tournament football."
