Roma talisman Francesco Totti says that he will step aside if he feels that his presence is hampering his side, who have made a dismal start to the new Serie A season.
Totti and co have won only once in their opening six league games this term and the 34-year-old former Italy playmaker has come in for criticism for some of his performances.
He told Il Corriere dello Sport: "I have worn this shirt for 21 years and for more than ten as the captain of this team.
"I have laughed and cried about the results we have achieved, but I have always done so with the spirit of a number one fan and a number one professional within this team.
"I would never allow myself to be put in a situation of privilege with respect to the other Roma players.
"Moreover, as the captain of Roma, I confirm that I don't want to be this team's problem."
