Totti out of derby date with Lazio

Roma captain and talisman Francesco Totti will miss the weekend's derby clash against Lazio, his club said Tuesday.

The 35-year-old is suffering from a hamstring strain and following tests on Tuesday morning Roma ruled him out of action until next week's match against Palermo.

"Following the tests conducted this morning at Trigori (Roma's training ground) Francesco Totti will pursue a comprehensive rehabilition, physiotherapy and water training programme," said a Roma statement.

"In the coming days he will begin training in the gym and another test to track his progress is planned for next week."
