Totti confirms Italy availability

AS Roma striker Francesco Totti has declared himself available for Italy duty after ending his self-imposed international retirement.

The 33-year-old playmaker had called time on his career with the Azzurri after their victory in the 2006 World Cup Final.

However, with the 2010 World Cup just five months away, the 58-times capped forward has made himself available to coach Marcello Lippi.

"I will decide in April," he told Italian newspaper La Repubblicca. "If Marcello Lippi calls me up, if I am fit and if the group wants me, I will go."

Totti has struggled with a succession of knee injuries in recent seasons but is the Rome club's ten-goal leading scorer this term.
